Searching for a phrase enclosed in double quotes will return all records that contain the exact phrase.
+Albert +Einstein
This search will return all records containing both terms.
-Albert +Einstein
This search will return all records that contain Einstein, but do not contain Albert.
sing*
This search will match terms like sing, sings, singer, singing, etc.
*stein
This search will match terms like Bernstein, Eppstein, Falkenstein, etc.
*stein*
This search will match terms like Bernstein, Einstein, Steiner-Prag, Steinthal, etc.

The default sorting places the most relevant matches at the top of the results list.
